Fed Cattle Feed Cost Offset Initiative
This program has been created to help offset the feed costs that producers incurred due to COVID-19 slaughter facility disruptions. Beginning June 12, producers can apply for support for these feed costs paid between May 1 and June 30, 2020. To be eligible, the participant must be a Canadian resident, reporting farm income for tax purposes in Alberta, and feeding eligible cattle in Alberta. Eligible animals must be slaughter-ready fed cattle of a grade "A" designation, lot average net weight at time of application being a minimum 1300lb for heifers, 1400lb for steers. Bulls, cows and culls are not eligible for this program.
